Several examples of this kind of fine tamboured silk are to be found in public collections. For example Catalogue No 2 and 3, Exhibition of Colchas Bordadas do Meuseu Nacional de Arte Antiqa, Lisboa 1978, and the examples in the Calico Museum, Ahmedabad, illustrated in Indian Embroideries, Irwin & Hall, Plates 22 and 23. The examples cited appear to be of earlier date than this example.
