Further details
The chintamani and tiger stripe motif is at the heart of Ottoman design. This arrangment is interesting in that the configuration in horizontal bands is reminiscent of North African woven textiles, although the placing of the chintamani within chintamani can be seen in a kaftan in the Topkapi Museum, Istanbul, illustrated page 53 Costumes, Embroideries and other Textiles, Topkapi, Rogers, Tezcan, Delibas 1986.
