the anglaise case with beaded borders, silvered openwork foliate panels to the sides and conforming mask to the annular Arabic dial with plain silvered centre, silvered lever platform to the cut bimetallic balance, strike/repeat on gong to the backplate stamped PARIS and numbered 27417, French, circa 1900 -- 5½in. (14cm.) high
