modelled as a gong suspended from an openwork fram, the drum-shaped case cast with foliage and stamped for SUSSE FRERES, the dial with centre cast with a dragon, outside white enamel Arabic chapters and inside chapters cast as eastern symbols, pierced gilt-metal hands, conforming decoration to the rear door, the twin barrel movement with cylinder escapement (replaced) and strike on bell, French, last quarter 19th century -- 26¼in.
