the case with flat-top hood with later chequer cornice, outset brass-capped columns, the crossbanded arched trunk door flanked by chamfered sides, on skirted plinth, the 11in. (28cm.) square brass dial with cherub mask and foliate spandrels, signed on the chapter ring RAWLINS STONE, matted centre with calendar ring, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike, associated, case and dial late 18th century, movement later adapted -- 78½in. (199cm.) high
