the case with hood with moulded caddy top and glazed panels to the sides, with breakarch trunk door above plinth with bracket feet, the brass dial signed THO TRAVIS THORNE FECIT on a brass disc in the arch, foliate and mask spandrels to the brass chapter ring, the matted and engraved centre with mock winding holes, subsidiary calendar and age of moon apertures, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and countwheel strike -- 94½in. (240cm.) high
