the case with breakarch hood with wavy cresting and brass ball and spire finials, fluted and brass-capped columns, with breakarch trunk door and quatrefoil panelling to the skirted plinth, the brass dial with painted rolling moon to the arch signed on a silvered band above JOHN GEE DOCK HEAD SOUTHWARK, foliate and scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, seconds ring and date aperture to the matted centre, the five pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 91½in. (212cm.) high
