Although apparently incomplete, this album gives a good range of the portraits for which Alexander is known. It includes self-portraits, other members of the Alexander and Sims families, studies of Quaker friends and visiting speakers at temperance meetings. Several photographs show unusually large family or school groups. Also containing a small number of views, mostly in and around Ipswich, and two photographs of a tiger lying under pampas grass at Walton Garden.
