Concertina album containing forty-eight hand-tinted albumen prints, each approx. 8 x 10 in. or the reverse, the majority numbered in the negatives, mounted one-per-page, approx. half with printed paper title labels, paper-taped at edges, tissue guards (creased), Japanese cloth covered boards (front and back covers detached), 12½ x 15½ in.; with a quantity of albumen print portrait studies, 3½ x 5½ in. loosely inserted.(a lot)

Portraits of women in travelling chairs, musicians, women at their toilet, dancing girls, geisha, a Samurai in traditional dress, Japanese men in straw raincoats, shopkeepers, women preparing food, and a tattooed man; views aorund Yokohama, Nikko, Osaka, Kobe and Tokyo including street views, garden views, architectural studies of temples and river views.
