Portraits of Chulalongkorn, King of Siam on his throne, in official uniform and a view of him in formal dress being carried through the streets of Bangkok during an official procession (illus.), the Queen of Siam, other members of the royal family including the Prince and Princess, portraits of Siamese priests, an elderly woman, and a child in formal dress; group portraits of actors in the Siamese theatre, Bangkok; the Sultan's army; the Sultan of Zinggar and his entourage; the Regent of Bantam; and an image of the body of a young Siamese child burning on a pyre, Bangkok; several architectural studies of temples and palaces around Wat Cheng, Wat Toh, the King's Palace, and Wat Tra Keo; garden views, river views, and a still life from the King's museum.
It would seem most likely that the photographs in this album were taken circa 1868 when Chulalongkorn succeeded his father to the throne, and that these albums were compiled at the end of the century from prints made in the 1870s-80s.
