Album of fifty-two albumen prints, each approx. 6¾ x 9¼ in. or the reverse, mounted one-per-page on two-tone card (two leaves loose), titled in Spanish in ink on mounts and with occasional pencil inscriptions in French, half red morocco, embossed paper boards by Martin Siegel, Asuncion, Paraguay, title and credit label on front cover Vistas del Paraguay. Architecture and street scenes in the capital, Asuncion, including studies of the Palacio Nacional partially destroyed in 1869 but described as having since been restored, the port with the steamers Cosmos and San Martin, the latter being loaded with oranges carried by women, the railway station and the cathedral; the church of Encarnacion on fire; the suburb of Quinta showing a European group seated outside a mansion; scenes in the countryside; and twenty-eight native Indian village scenes and outdoor portrait groups.
