probably Samuel Alcock, the cat at the top of three steps, ears back and back arched, the pup at the foot of the steps, it's fore paws on the second step, on a rectangular gilt line base with canted corners, painted in colours, impressed 266, circa 1840 (minor damages and restoration) -- 7.5cm. wide
