A shibayama style ivory tusk vase and cover with silver quail finial, decorated in gold lacquer and inset in mother-of-pearl, tortoiseshell, amber, wood, horn, stained ivory and hardstones with a tethered eagle on a falconry perch beneath a blossoming tree, the reverse with another eagle perched on a flowering bough beneath birds in flight, the neck with silver filigree collar, mounted on a silver stand modelled in high relief with scrolling waves -- 22¼in.
