Provenance
'Little Polly Anna', 'Mrs Polly Anna' and 'Mr Polly Anna' are offered for sale by the daughter of the original owner, Norman Dainty, born 1909. Norman spent his childhood years in Columbo where his parents were tea planters. Dainty recalls the bears being purchased from Cargills, a department store in Columbo. In 1914 the family left Columbo to return to the UK. However the outbreak of War prevented this and they were forced to stay in Canada. In 1918 the family were fortunate to return home to the UK where they remained. Norman Dainty, now a Civil Engineer gave his childhood toys to his sister, who later handed them to her children. Norman Dainty died recently.
