A finely engineered model single cylinder side rod stationary engine,
built by G.B. Houghton with blued steel clad cylinder 1in. bore x 1¾in. stroke, fluted barrelled connecting rods with wedged and cottered little end and marine type big end bearings, bar-type crosshead guides, counterbalanced crankshaft with spoked flywheel and spoked belt pulley and wire rope driven governor, linkage and valve, finished in black and red with yellow lining and polished brightwork, the bed supported on nine turned brass columns -- 7½ x 11in.
