of small size, by R. Reiss, Liebenwerda, No. 12963, the black-enamelled instrument with lacquered-brass fittings, the telescope with graduated bubble level, rack and pinion focusing, mounted on an axis with electrical attachment, the enclosed vertical circle with two verniers, the vertical support with bubble level, enclosing a horizontal universal level, the horizontal circle with cross bubble, two verniers and associated magnifiers, with tangent-screw fine adjustment and clamp, on tripod mounting, the adjustable feet fitted with pads, in the original maker's wood case with carrying handle -- 13in. (33cm.) high
