by W. & S. Jones., the Jones's Most Improved Microscope signed on the folding tripod stand W. & S. JONES, Feceunt 135 Holborn London, the slender tapering pillar supporting the square-section limb on a compass joint, incorporating the rack and pinion motion for focusing, with sliding plano-concave mirror and sub-stage condenser lens, the body limb supported on a sliding arm with friction clamp; with solar microscope attachment, the mirror with screw-gear adjustment for angle and rotation, with prismatic attachment, in fitted mahogany carrying case, each accessory individually labelled and numbered, including sprung stage with ear attachment, rotating objective mount with six bead glass objectives, an achromatic ¼in./½in./1in. combination objective in canister, frog-plate, ivory and boxwood sliders, bull's-eye condenser and other items, the lid with inner compartment containing eleven (of twelve) ebony sliders with specimens, sprung brass holder and specimen impaling device, with sliding cover, the case with two brass carrying handles -- 19¼in.
