the rectangular stepped case with moulded entablature below a glazed and bevelled panel to the top, foliate pierced sound frets to the sides, on a stepped plinth with bun feet, the square silvered brass Roman dial with engraved foliate spandrels enclosing blued steel pointers, the twin fussee movement with pull-repeat anchor escapement striking a bell fixed centrally to the backplate, the backplate with pendulum lock, with key -- 13in. (33cm.) high
