A silver filgree and ivory shibayama style footed dish of foliate outline, applied to the centre in mother-of-pearl, gold lacquer, tortoiseshell, silver and enamel with an elephant in decorative trappings standing before an urn of chrysanthemums and blossoming branches, two birds to one side, the compartmented rim pierced with scrolling foliage and applied with eight shaped ivory plaques decorated with flowers -- 9¼in.
