A band sampler by Mary Knoppell worked in brightly coloured silks, the upper two thirds worked with alphabets, proverbs and a homily to King George in various stitches including, cross, satin and buttonhole, the lower third with spot motifs including stylised carnations, a pair of stags and female figures--20 x 44cm., circa 1730
