A rare lady's waistcoat of linen embroidered in coloured silks with Chinoiserie spot motifs of figures, buildings and stags against a false quilted ground, the wide borders embroidered with birds perched amongst flowers, the skirts edged with knotted fringe - English or American, early 18th century (insertions at the shoulders and some stains)
