A Graeco-Egyptian pale turquoise glazed composition aryballos in the form of a hedgehog
6th Century B.C.
Standing on a flat base, the prickled back shown by cross-hatching, with large ears and details of the eyes, snout, 'fringe' and forelegs in added brownish-black glaze, nine similarly glazed spots on the body and line around the rim of the vessel. The neck, mouth and short vertical handle of the vessel emerging from the back of the animal, chips to front of base, some restoration
