A mahogany cylinder bureau bookcase
the upper section with moulded cornice and a plain frieze above a pair of glazed doors enclosing three shelves between fluted uprights, the lower section enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon holes and drawers, with a forward sliding writing surface and hinged ratcheted slope with three frieze drawers and two further drawers flanking a central recess, on turned and reeded tapering legs with castors, the locks stamped J. Cluff, London and numbered 3229, the top and base associated, the base c.1840 -- 54in. (138cm.) wide
