Published in 1824 as the frontispiece to Rear Admiral Sir Edward Parry's Journal of a Second Voyage for the Discovery of a North-West Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Parry led three voyages in an attempt to discover the north-west passage, and it was during the second that the weather was mild enough for landings and even games of cricket on the ice. Reproduced in Pageant of Cricket p. 57.
