Lot Essay

England won by 9 wickets, A. C. MacLaren scoring 109, and Ranjitsinhji 175 in the opening innings. The vignettes of the match feature areas of the Sydney Cricket Ground, and Ranjitsinhi returning to the pavilion after his big knock. Captions read: "Programme, Sir," "In the Ladies' reserve," "On the Lawn, the Australians Going in," "The Scoring Board," and "Ranjitsinhji at the Members Pavilion, end of the First Innings." The figure of Ranjitsinhji has been neatly onlaid.
