Literature
ONE OF THE MOST CELEBRATED AND ENDURING IMAGES OF CRICKET. Reproduced in Pageant of Cricket p. 199; Ashley Mallett Trumper (London, Macmillan), p. 62. George Beldam (1868-1937), the photographer, played for Middlesex from 1900 to 1907, and we have been informed by a descendant that he was himself the bowler in such photographs. A camera with either a remote shutter release or delayed action setting would have made this possible.
