The earlier scorecard shows the state of play after the fall of 2 wickets for 62 runs in IZ's second innings, a 22 run lead in the first having left the wandering club a target of 199 to win. The 1904 match was no less well balanced, a century of 162 by L. J. Moon giving the Gentlemen a first innings lead of almost a hundred runs. IZ owed their eventual win not only to Wynyard's century but the performance of B. J. T. Bosanquet who had bowling figures of 83 for 7 in the first innings, took a total of 11 wickets in the match, and made a second innings score of 66.
