Alexander, W. A. Oldfield. Wall and Bromley did not play in the game. Although Australia made 435 in the opening innings, this was exceeded by England's 454, and their second innings collapse to the bowling of Verity, who took 5 for 33, allowed England to win by 8 wickets. Darling was the top Australian scorer with 85, while Bradman made 48 and 71. For England, Hammond scored 101 and 75, while Larwood in his first innings made 98.
