The winner's names and dates are: "1926 Jean René Lacoste, 1927 Jean René Lacoste, 1928 Henri Cochet, 1929 William T. Tilden, II, 1930 John H. Doeg, 1931 H. Ellsworth Vines Jr., 1932 H. Ellsworth Vines Jr., 1933 Frederick J. Perry, 1934 Frederick J. Perry, 1935 Wilmer L. Allison, 1936 Frederick J. Perry." Having won the U.S. Championships three times, the first overseas player to do so, Perry was able to take permanent possession of the full size cup, in addition to receiving the usual miniature version of this famous trophy. This was the last amateur tournament he played in, as he turned professional in September, 1936.
