NEWTON'S new and improved celestial globe, 60 Chancery Lane, London, 1839
A 4¾-inch (12cm.) diameter miniature table globe, made up of twelve hand coloured engraved paper gores, the constellations represented by scientific instruments, mythical beasts and figures, the stars and planets by magnitude, (old surface abrasions, considerable damage and some cracks in the region of the south celestial sphere) with brass meridian half-circle, on baluster-turned rosewood support and tri-form stand -- 8¼in. (21cm.) high
