NEWTON'S New TERRESTRIAL GLOBE, according to the most recent DISCOVERIES. 1818. manufactured by J & W Newton, Chancery Lane, LONDON
A 9-inch (23cm.) diameter terrestrial table globe, made up of twelve hand coloured engraved paper gores, the continents coloured in outline, the oceans showing tracks of the Resolution 1773, and 1775, and other voyages of adventure and discovery, some trade winds and monsoon areas marked (old surface abrasions to varnish, a crack from the North Pole to 47° north), the engraved brass meridial circle divided in four quadrants, with hour circle (the horizon ring with old abrasions, cracks and paper loss), raised on four mahogany quadrant supports, the truncated stand with tri-form base -- 14½in. (37cm.) high
