The royal pieces with Maltese cross finials, applied with orbs, the white king stamped to the base FISHER 188 STRAND, the white king slightly warped, other minor damages; with an associated Victorian walnut box; and an indistict ink scribed letter, dated 1831, mentioning Staunton, and listing the moves of a chess game too check mate, frayed and torn
the kings -- 7¾in. (19.5cm) high; the pawns -- 3in. (7.6cm) high
