Ursula Mommens studied under William Staite Murray at the Royal College of Art. She later worked with Michael Cardew at Wenford Bridge and he became a major inspiration. She later moved to South Heighton where high fired reduction stoneware and porcelain gradually superceded her earlier preference for earthenware.
