Further details
The square bolts that join the front and rear stretchers to the uprights is indicative of early 1930s production, later examples are entirely welded. As a result of the large number of welded components, manufacturing costs were high and the chair could only be purchased by the economically privileged. This example was manufactured by the French workshop of Thonet.
