The breakarch case with waisted pediment with Grecian style urn surmount with pineapple finial, with floral urn finials to the angles below, decorated to the front with panels of cut-brass inlaid simulated red tortoiseshell, with arched fishscale sound frets to the sides above volutes mounted with gilt-bronze foliate swags, on breakfront base with toupie feet, the floral engraved gilt dial with strike/silent ring to the arch, black painted Roman chapters and signature TAYLOR & SON BRISTOL, steel axe head hands, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement quarter chiming on eight bells with hour strike on gong, pendulum holdfast to the backplate
