An unusual sampler by Mary Owen worked in coloured silks, depicting large scale figures of Adam and Eve beneath a fruit tree, the serpent entwined around its trunk, the tree flanked by angels and bordered with birds and floral spot motifs, within a three sided border of honeysuckle--25 x 24in. (62 x 61cm.), framed and glazed, circa 1820-30
