A Collection of Albums by Bert Thomas (1883-1966) of Studies of City Characters including Policemen, Beggars, Society Gentlemen and others, some signed, inscribed and dated from 1904 to 1905.

Influenced in style and subject matter by Phil May, Thomas joined the staff of London Opinion around 1913. He was also a member of the London Sketch Club where he worked side by side with his close friend William Heath Robinson.
