The robust head of characteristic form (cross spikes missing), with four-pronged hammer and stout beak-shaped fluke, stiff spike, four side-straps, and wooden staff with unusual circular iron hand-guard nailed to it some 11in. (28cm.) below the head, the iron nails throughout with domed heads, some with brass rosette-shaped washers
