An Italian Bill (Roncone)
Early 16th Century
With flat head of characteristic form with cutting-edge of flattened triangular form, curving forward at the top into a hook, top and back spikes of stiff diamond section, small pointed buzal lugs, flat tapering socket with applied brass mouldings at the top (side-straps missing), and later wooden staff studded with ornamental brass nails
