The head of bright steel comprising a tapering socket of polygonal section with mouldings at top and bottom surmounted by a rectangular moulded capital supporting two arms forming a curved V, each terminating in a socket-shaped spring-actuated match-clamp with decorative moulding, the mouldings throughout inlaid with brass strips, on associated wooden staff with conical iron shoe
