Circa 1852-71
Each with slender tapering blade (partly pitted) of hollow triangular section partly etched and gilt with conventional foliage and an imperial eagle, the hilts of ormolu, the downcurved shells, straight quillons,grips and trefoil-shaped pommels cast and chased throughout with fruit and foliage, pierced on the shells, incorporating imperial eagles on the shells and pommels, and set with strips and beads of steel, the fore-quillons and pommels linked by a double chain (one defective) of faceted steel and gilt coiled wire beads
