A Moghul Part-Armour
Late 18th Century
Comprising a Helmet with hemispherical skull, top spike, two plume holders and nasal with its upper end shaped as an aigrette, and patterned aventail of small butted brass and iron links, charaina of four plates with original quilted lining, a pair of bazu bands, a mail shirt of small riveted and welded rings, open at the front and divided at the rear, and a pair of leg defences of similar construction, the edges bound with textile, the helmet and other plate defences each with matching applied border within a raised gilt edge and decorated with gold-damascend flowers and foliage
