A German Gothic Armour
19th Century, In 15th Century Style
Of bright steel, comprising a kettle-hat with one-piece skull and cheek-pieces, gorget, cuirass of breast- and back-plate each of one piece, deep laminated fauld and culet, one-piece pointed tassets (detached), pauldrons, complete vambraces with shell-shaped cowters, complete leg defences, the sabatons with long pointed toes, and fingered gauntlets with long cuffs, decorated throughout with fan-shaped fluting in the Gothic manner, some edges roped: mounted on a figure standing on a wooden plinth, and accompanied by a sword, and a tilting-lance with steel vamplate en suite with the armour (3)
