With rebrowned twist barrels signed in gold on the rib between panels of strapwork (some gold missing) and stamped on the underside with the signature of Eugène Bernard, back-action locks cut with vines and strapwork enclosing panels engraved with game, Lefaucheux-type action, underlever and mounts en suite, figured walnut butt and fore-end, the former (cracked) carved in relief with a lion and a snake in combat, pierced horn tang to the trigger-guard, and iron sling mounts (right hammer replaced), Liège proof
