The first with three-stage barrel retained by numerous engraved silver bands, the octagonal breech carrying the back-sight, the butt set with silver roundals and pierced silver panels and inlaid with engraved bone plaques, and with bone butt-plate; the second adapted in North Africa and fitted with four enamelled silver barrel bands and a fish-tail butt with bone butt-plate (cleaning rod missing)
