An Unusual 30-Bore French Flintlock Holster Pistol

With three-stage barrel with turned muzzle ring, the breech section octagonal changing to polygonal, engraved with initials, and stamped with barrelsmith's mark IC, an anchor between, engraved tang, signed rounded lock (some surface rust) engraved with foliage and with a bird on the cock, moulded walnut full stock inlaid with twisted silver wire enclosing shaped panels of darkened wood, iron mounts including scroll side-plate terminating in an engraved monster-head, the spurred pommel overlaid with silver engraved with scrolling designs of flowers and foliage inhabited by interlaced monsters and with a rose on the cap, horn fore-end cap, baluster ramrod-pipes, and horn-tipped ramrod, unidentified French control marks
