gouache heightened with gold on paper, in the interior of a building with doves on the roof, a noble sits on a low stool facing a lady who offers him pan, while a female attendant stands behind him wth a peacock feather flywhisk, yellow border with black rules, red leaf, Malwa, circa 1680 - 9 x 6¾in. There, however, the seated lord is described as handing pan to the lady, whereas in the present example it appears to be the other way round.
