of shaped rectangular form, the hinged cover with fish-scale carved cavetto rim mounted to the fore with engraved plaque: THE FRONT AND END PANELS OF THIS CASKET ARE OF OAK FROM O'NEILLS CASTLE CASLTEREAGH, the side panels decorated with interlocking scrollwork and cornucopia, flanked by spreading square-section plinths to the corners, mounted overall with faceted bosses, cabouchons and engraved motifs hallmarked Dublin 1891, a coronet and stylised initial D to the fore, the silk lined interior containing a variety of hardstone jewellery -- 17¾in (45cm.) wide
