Sutcliffe, Maurice Tate, E. Tyldesley, J. C. White. This tour marked Hammond's first appearance in Test cricket, and his success was the outstanding feature of the series. He obtained 4 centuries, two of them in the same match, and scored 251 and 200 in successive innings. Ames, Freeman and Staples did not appear in any of the Tests.
