MIKE FRANCIS. Bishan Singh Bedi, original artwork adapted from a photograph, signed by the artist, 510 x 345mm. (20 x 15¾in.), framed and glazed.
Literature
Published in Lords Taverners Fifty Greatest (1983). Bedi of Punjab, Delhi, Northamptonshire and India, took 3584 first class wickets between 1961 and 1981. "Full of Eastern guile and artistry, his gentle approach to the wicket and graceful movement of the arm cunningly concealed the aggression in his bowling. At his peak, Bedi's slow left-arm spin troubled most of the world's leading batsmen, deceiving them through the air with his curving flight or beating them off the pitch with subtle changes of pace and turn."
